Sharing robotics projects, knowledge and enthusiasm!
The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Alberta
The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta has a strong inter-disciplinary robotics research program. The program applies science, technology and engineering and the expertise of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech Language Pathologist to improve the lives of people who are temporarily or permanently disabled.
The Alberta Youth Robotics Society
The Alberta Youth Robotics Society’s mission is to inspire young people to pursue further studies and careers in the field of science, technology and engineering. They do that through arranging robotics competitions for school-age students at the elementary, junior high school and high school level.
The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine seeks to promote young people’s interest in science, technology and engineering, by exposing them to the various applications of rehabilitation robotics. We will do that by providing space and participating in the Alberta Youth Robotics Society’s robotics competitions.
These activities are in support of the University of Alberta’s, Dare to Discover Strategy to “Promote community pride and participation in the university through its physical and intellectual openness, and opportunities for ongoing dialogue and discussion.”
