An Exciting Partnership with Statoil and AYRS!

Goal:

To inspire Alberta’s youth’s interest and participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through the FIRST LEGO League ® (FLL) youth robotics program.

Objectives:

  • Increase community awareness
  • Increase reach
  • Build employee pride through “hands-on” demonstration of professional skills
  • Connection to the Heroes of Tomorrow and STEM initiatives

Projects:

Robotics Loaner Program

AYRS and Statoil to provide a robotics kit loaner program to assist in the founding of new youth robotics teams in the area. New teams who wish to apply to be selected (based on availability) should contact info@firstalberta.org for more information.

New Team Support

AYRS and Statoil will provide coaches training programs free of charge to coaches in the Calgary area.  Coaches from all over Alberta will also benefit from the added resources and support that is part of this initiative.

Teacher to Robotics Camp

Statoil to fund robotics training to deserving educators who commit to coach an FLL team in the coming or current school year.  Educators may be from public, private or home schools to participate.  The awards will amount to $400 to cover the cost of tuition for one week’s training at AYRS Coaches Level 1 training camp. Applicants will need to contact info@firstalberta.org for more information.
